Anemia

Symptoms of Anemia

Some of the most common symptoms of anemia are lethargy, exhaustion, lack of energy and persistent feeling of being physically drained. Breathlessness, premature wrinkling, dull eyes, headache, and pale skin and nails are some common effects of anemia. The healing time that results from injuries is considerably longer for anemic individuals.

Severely anemic individuals exert excess pressure on their hearts and may experience frequent palpitations. They may suffer from heart failure.

Depending on the severity of the allergic reaction, the symptoms may be mild, moderate, serious or in some cases, fatal.

Natural Cures

Anemia is one of the most widespread ailments and it is possible to utilize natural treatments to improve the oxygen carrying capacity of blood. Some of these remedies are:

Green Vegetables

Most green vegetables such as spinach, fenugreek, lettuce and okra are rich sources of iron. The regular consumption of these vegetables ensures a steady supply of iron in the body. Fenugreek seeds are also a rich source of iron.

Beets and Carrots

Beets and carrots are rich in iron and aid in the body’s hemoglobin production.
To obtain the benefits of beets and carrots, scrub them and consume them raw, steam them, or add them to stir-fried meals.

A daily glass of beetroot juice or carrot juice is also effective. Beet juice is especially high in vitamins B1, B2 and B6, sulphur, iodine, iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and copper. Blend the juices together to create beet-carrot juice, which is an excellent immunity-enhancing source. Add one pinch of rock salt to enhance the taste.

Sesame Seeds

Sesame seeds are another sufficient source of iron. Anemic patients can benefit by consuming milk mixed with ground sesame seeds. Soak a teaspoonful of sesame seeds in lukewarm water and proceed to grind, strain, sweeten with honey or sugar, and mix in a glass of milk.

Almonds

Almonds contain many beneficial elements including iron, copper and vitamins. To maximize the benefits of almonds, soak seven almonds in water, preferably overnight, so that the skin may be removed. Remove the skin and grind the almonds to create a fine paste. Consume this paste every morning.

Concoctions for coping with Anemia

Mix two tablespoons of chamomile, two tablespoons of ground orange peel, and half of a teaspoon of ground ginger into two cups of boiling water. Allow the mixture to cool. Strain and add one cup of brandy. Consume one half of a cup of this blend every morning and evening.
Mix one teaspoon of fenugreek seeds, dandelions and dried comfrey into two cups of boiling water and boil together for ten minutes. Strain the mixture and enhance its taste by adding honey. Regular use of this mixture can soothe the condition of an anemic patient.
