Low Blood Pressure

Symptoms Low Blood Pressure

The symptoms of low blood pressure include dizziness, lightheadedness, breathing rapidly or shallow breathing, nausea, fainting, feeling cold, humid pale skin, and fatigue.

Natural Cures

Low blood pressure is rarely considered to be serious. However, it can be disabling as some of its symptoms include fatigue and dizziness. Try some of the following natural cures for treating low blood pressure.

Rosemary

Rosemary is excellent for blood circulation, and the flavonoids contained in rosemary are considered to be strengthening tonics for heart and blood vessels. The flavonoid diosmin present in rosemary improves the circulation and strengthens fragile blood vessels. The herb is used for treating palpitations and other signs of nervous tension that affect the blood circulation. It also has a general tonic effect on the circulation and nervous system, especially the vascular nerves, making it an excellent drug for all states of chronic circulatory weakness including hypotension.

Use rosemary liberally in cooking.
Prepare rosemary wine by adding 20 grams of the herb to one liter of white wine and allow the mixture to stand for five days, shaking occasionally.
Prepare tea by pouring two cups of boiling water over six grams of powdered herb and then steeping for three to five minutes. Divide the tea into three portions and drink over the course of the day.
You can also prepare massage oil for the chest by pouring one half of a cup of olive oil over one fourth of a cup of dried rosemary leaves. Allow this mixture to stand in a warm location (such as out in the sun) for two days. Strain and use it as a massage oil to rub on the chest.
Prepare a low blood pressure tincture by combining one half of a teaspoon each of tincture of hawthorn berries and flowers, ginger rhizome, rosemary leaves, and Siberian ginseng root. Take three to four drops of this tincture two to four times each day.

Other remedies

Extract the juice of raw beetroots and drink it twice each day. The simple sugars present in beetroots work wonders for treating low blood pressure.

Soak seven almonds in water overnight. The next morning peel them and blend them in warm milk. Add one teaspoon of honey and consume.

Lifestyle and Low Blood Pressure

If you are susceptible to experiencing low blood pressure, consider taking the following preventive and self-care measures:

Increase the intake of water and other fluids to avoid dehydration.
Avoid diuretics such as caffeine and alcohol.
Avoid exposure to hot climate or taking hot baths as they can raise body temperature and induce sweating, causing a fall in blood pressure.
As a first aid measure, immediately consume sugar, candies, ice cream, or sweet fruits to feel immediate relief from dizziness.
