Stress

Symptoms of Stress

Some of the common symptoms that are shown by an individual who is suffering from stress are restlessness, anxiety, moodiness, lack of control over emotions, short temper, overeating or starving, lack of concentration, indecisiveness, biting nails, teeth grinding, feeling lonely, detached or isolating self from others, depression, sleeplessness, panicking over trivial matters, resorting to smoking, drugs, or alcohol, pessimism, stiffness of muscles, irregular (in most cases, rapid) heartbeats, and lack of interest in activities such as hobbies that were pleasurable earlier. Please note that not all of the aforementioned symptoms will be observed in everyone who suffers from stress.

Also, as mentioned earlier, feeling some stress is normal and even desirable. But frequent instances of stress or long-lasting stress can cause complications. Stress is often linked to headaches and migraines, gastric troubles, body ache, general malaise, and sleep apnea. It can also compromise the quality of the immune system and make it difficult to ward off infections. Additionally, it can aggravate an existing health condition.

Natural Cures

Try some of the following natural cures to cope with stress. Some of the symptoms of stress such as headache, sleeplessness, fatigue, and digestive troubles can be treated by using common kitchen supplies or by obtaining a few herbal remedies from your herbalist.

Ginseng

Ginseng is listed as an adaptogen, which means that it is a natural herb product that increases the body's resistance to stresses such as trauma, anxiety, and bodily fatigue.
Ginseng is used to restore vitality, boost energy, reduce fatigue, improve mental and physical performance, and protect the body from the negative effects of stress. It is also referred to as a tonic for the adrenal glands because it tones and maintains their overall health.

Siberian, Asian, and Panax ginseng are used to cope with stress. Asian ginseng is the most widely used variety for medicinal purposes. Everyone responds to ginseng differently, so it is recommended that you begin treatment with a low dosage and gradually increase the dosage. You can consume ginseng in the form of powdered root, capsule, or tincture.

Kava Kava

Kava Kava is a sedative and is known to treat nervousness, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. It sharpens the memory and concentration of individuals who experience anxiety and it induces a peaceful sleep. Kava kava contains a group of chemicals called kavalactones that are responsible for its anti-anxiety effects. Take one capsule that contains approximately 40-70 milligrams of kavalactones two to three times each day. Infuse ground rootstalk of this herb with water or coconut milk to manage stress. Kava Kava is also a beneficial remedy for insomnia and anxiety when it is mixed with valerian root and honey.

Try some of the following tips to prevent stress and the resulting negative effects:

Identify your stressors and evaluate whether they are internal (which can be controlled by you) or external and identify how much of the situation that you can actually control.
Do not allow stress to take hold of your mind and body. Think positive. If you can not change the situation then you must accept it.
Every morning meditate for at least five to ten minutes.
Close your eyes, inhale deeply, and relax. Try this whenever you feel extremely stressed out.
Instead of becoming socially detached, try to mingle with people. Talk to someone whom you trust. Share your concerns with others so that they can help you.
Finally, do not allow acne to control your life. You will be able to control acne with the use of care and caution.
Set aside some time to get involved in an activity of your interest. Gardening, painting, listening to music, and playing a game or musical instrument are a few examples of possible activities.
Rest adequately.
Manage stress in your children by communicating with them and preparing them for life’s challenges. Some “problems” may appear trivial to you, but you must remember that these situations are very important to them. Issues such as tests, exams, bullying, and peer pressure can negatively affect the psyche of children.
If you have retired from your job, keep yourself physically active and mentally strong.
Stay away from stimulators and relaxants such as drugs, caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine. Even though they appear to have a sedative effect on your high-strung nerves, they are more harmful than they are beneficial.
